Amazon: Korg KDM-2 Digital Metronome

The Korg KDM-2 is a digital electronic metronome which offers a powerful sound fit for live rehearsals thanks to the cylindrical resonator speakers. The PCM sounds offer a cowbell, agogo, or clave sound, allowing you to select one which accompanies your instrument. With a tap tempo function, one can set the tempo with ease and a total of 19 different beat patterns are available to meet your practicing needs for a variety of musical styles. Son clave to rumba clave are available, and every beat variation in between. The large LED blinks in red as well as green, making it perfectly clear what the tempo is, while offering a large start/stop switch which can be used when practicing silently. There are three ways in which to set the 19 different tempos, alongside a sound out mode output which functions as a reference tone for tuning the 12 different pitches between C4 and B4. With a memory back up function, the Korg KDM-2 can remember specific tempos, beats, calibrations, as well as reference pitches even if the power is turned off.

Pros:

  1. It comes with a three year warranty.
  2. It has a large LED which is easy to see.
  3. It has a long battery life.
  4. It has a memory function.

Cons:

  1. The headphone jack has a short life span.
  2. The tempo dial is difficult to turn.
  3. It is not easily portable.

Overall:

The Korg KDM-2 offers a great sound, loud enough for live rehearsals and perfect for practicing, as it allows for a muted metronome and an LED to provide visual confirmation of your selected tempo.
